The New PS4

Review of the PlayStation 4

In this article it talks about all the changes and new ideas that have been put into the PS4. Some of the changes is that its slimmer, lighter, quieter, less over heating, Dual Shock 4 controller, and many more. There are also many great add-ons to the PS4. Some examples are the camera, Bluetooth, many apps, downloadable games, and many more.

I feel great that Sony has came out with the PS4. This is the next generation in gaming and they are putting everything out on the table. I love all the new ideas that have been put into the new system. What excites me the most are the new releases coming out. Some of them are Infamous: Second Son, Watch Dogs, and even Minecraft will be on the PS4. Another great thing is you can have your games from the PS3 transferred to the PS4. “You’ll be able to pay a fee to have a select few games work on both systems – and if you’ve got a reason to play these games on your PS3 and PS4, you can purchase some games for both at once.”

This can make an impact on the world. People all over are gonna what the next big thing in gaming. In under 24 hours of it release, Sony sold over 1 million consoles. The only problem I think is that it cost $399.99 to buy. After time has passed it will go down and more than likely sales will go up and make a greater impact on the world.

Bi-Weekly Current Event #4

Robot Police instead of Human Police

Diaz, Jesus. “Getting rid of the human police and using robots could be a good thing.” Gizmodo. n.p. 7 November. 2013. Web. 8 November. 2013. <http://gizmodo.com/new-robocop-trailer-a-badass-robot-cop-built-to-save-t-1460143609/1460233390/@jesusdiaz>

What if he had robot cops walking around and protecting to streets of the US? “This is not just an hypothetical question anymore. It's already happening. Drones are right now flying around the United States. And the robots will come soon enough(Jesus Diaz).” Using robots could have many good and bad’s to them. Its just most people are afraid that things could go very wrong just like what happens in the movies.

Im kind of inbetween on this article. The use of robots could be good and it could be bad. Using them could be good because we would not have to worry about humans dying and we can always make more of them. The bad part is they could be very expensive or they could lose control and take over. It doesn't really affect me that much because I don't plan on being a police officer.

This could impact the world by less deaths from cops. Maybe they could make them into firefighters also. The only problem with them is they could lose control and take over. It would be really hard if someone took them over and we had no way to stop them. So it could be a good or bad impact and the way we are going I think it would turn out bad.

Bi-Weekly Current Event #3

It Is A Heads Up Display That Let You See Through The Truck In Front Of You

Leszewski, Andrew. “This Heads Up Display Lets You See Through the Truck in Front of You.” gizmodo. 18 October 2013. 25 October 2013. Web. <http://gizmodo.com/this-heads-up-display-lets-you-see-through-the-truck-in-1447719167>

With this new system you are able to see through the trucks or buses in front of you. It can help improve driving safety by allowing us to know if its safe to pass. “The biggest issue is the 200-millisecond delay in the live feed, which doesn't seem like much, but it can make oncoming traffic appear farther away than it really is(Leszewski, Andrew).”

I think this is a great idea. My mom is always having trouble to know when to pass on the road. With this device it would be safer for people to pass people on the road and to know they are safe. It does not really affect me right now just because I'm not legal to drive yet. I think the only bad thing that could happen is if it stopped working and you thought it would be okay to pass but instead there is a car comes and crashes into you.

This could change the way people drive every day and to know when its okay to pass on the road. There can be less deaths from having this. You won’t have to worry about you getting hurt or crashing your car. This could help save thousands of dollars worth of damage to you or your vehicle. Hopefully they will be able to fix the problem with it to make it even safer.

Bi-Weekly Blog Post #3

My week so far has sucked. I'm confused in almost all my classes. I have a big project for my college class and a big test coming soon. I don’t understand my math and I haven’t had homework in History so I'm freaking out because we normally have something. On Wednesday my head and stomach have been killing me and it still is. So this week has sucked a lot.

This week we learned about online relationships and interaction with people. Some of the terms we learned were online predator, risky, manipulate, and stereotype. Online predator is a commonly used term for someone who uses the Internet to develop inappropriate relationship with kids or teen. Risky means potentially harmful to one’s emotional or physical well-being. Manipulating is when you try to influence someone to do something they might not otherwise do, for one’s own benefit. Stereotype is a popular belief about a group of people, based on assumptions that are often false.

Also this week we learned so new  2.0 tools. Chogger, Animoto, and makebeliefscomix. Chogger is a website where you can make you own comic strip, You can draw out your own designs or even add your own pictures. Makebeliefscomix is another website where you make your own comic strips. On this one you can add pictures and little items to make it more real. You have a limit on three slides though. On Animoto you can make a 30 second clip about what ever. You can add backgrounds, music, pictures, and text. You can upgrade it to get a better experiance.

I really like Chogger the best. On Chogger you have more choices on slides and different styles. You can draw or even take your own pictures and add it. You can even get photos off Google and use them. The only bad part is you can’t save it, so you have to finish it all at once.

This week our digital literacy was risky relationships. Risky relationships are online relationships with people. You don’t know if you can trust that person 110%. This digital literacy can affect me a lot. From now on I will watch what I do and post online because anyone can see it or forward it to other people.

Bi-Weekly Blog Post #2

The topic I chose was on an arrest on a man who was thought to be a crazed gunman. The title of the article is An Armed Siege in the UK Was Caused by a Video Game Light Gun.

I got this from Gizmodo.

Lynch, Gerald. “ An Armed Siege in the UK Was Caused by a Video Game Light Gun.” gizmodo. September 27, 2013. Web. September 27, 2013. <http://gizmodo.com/an-armed-siege-in-the-uk-was-caused-by-a-video-game-lig-1409555869>

A man was seen in a house pointing what looked to be like a gun out the window at neighbors. He was later arrested when police arrived to his house. “In this instance, once officers gained entry to the property, they found that the imitation firearm was, in fact, from a computer console. The computer console was not in use at the time this was reported to us.”

I think the police made a smart choice for arresting him. He should have not been pointing a gun out the window even if it was a toy gun. Its good that the guy was released later when they found out it was a toy. But he should have been smarter about playing the game. It affects me by telling me that I should be more careful where I point my guns even if they are not real.

It does not really affect the world that much. If everyone was smart and would close the blinds or play somewhere else, they wouldn’t have to worry about this. Maybe the police should check more before arresting people if they are thought to have a gun. If they would have checked he would not have been arrested. So just don’t point guns out the window and you won't have to worry about being arrested.

Introduction To Publication Bi-Weekly Post 2

Introduction To Publication Bi-Weekly Post 2
My week has been okay. I have a lot of work to do and I don't want to do any of it. I have learned a lot this week. Some of the things I learned are plagiarism and digital citizenship.

Plagiarism is where you copy someones idea without asking or giving credit to the owner. Digital citizenship is where you need to be responsible and ethical applied to interacting on the online world.

We have also learned about Prezi, Mixbook, Diigo. Mixbook is a website where you get to make a book about what ever. You get to add pictures and what ever you want it to say. You can even buy it when your done. Diigo is a website where you can bookmark highlight text and add sticky notes to any web page. Then you can share it with the group you are working with if your doing a team project. Prezi is a website were you make power points in a fun way. The ups to this website is its easier to use then a regular power point. The down side to it is you can't change your background once you choice it.

We learned about digital citizenship this week. Digital Citizenship is where you respect what people say and put online. Don't put someone down or cyber bully them. Also watch what you say online it could get you in trouble someday. We even got to make a Prezi about it.

Technology

The topic of my article is about Smartwatchs

"I Actually Really Want a Smartwatch"
Limar, Eric. I Actually Really Want a Smartwatch. Gizmodo, Web., 6 September, 2013, http://gizmodo.com/i-actually-really-want-a-smartwatch-1257227834

Its about how smartwatchs could be useful to people. If you cant get to your phone and its making a really loud noise don't you wanna not worry about it. So if you have a smartwatch on your wrist you don't have to worry about loosing it.

I believe this product could actually work very well. This product could help people in alot of different ways in life. It could help me out by never worrying about loosing it. If im in class I can read my text with out my teachers knowing it. I also don't have to worry about droping it and breaking it like my phone. According to Erci Limar. "His phone makes a noise, and has to turn it on and discover precisely what that noise means. This happens alot of the times for him".

This can impact the world by helping people stay in contact with everyone quickly because of the convenience of it being on your wrist. While driving you can look at your wrist to read the message instead of looking around to find it and maby crash. People don't have to worry about dropping and breaking there phones. People don't have to worry about loosing there phones. Its also hard to loose just because its on your wrist all the time.

My Blog Post

So far this week has been good. I'm getting used to this school. I have learning a lot, meeting new people and enjoying the classes I have. I don’t like all the homework though that’s the only problem. The building is nice and clean, its small so its easy to find my classes. All the teachers are fun and easy to talk to.

Fair Use:The ability to use a small, amount of someone’s creative work without permission, but only in certain ways.
Commercial Purposes: A use in connection with a business, usually for profit.
Copyright:  A law that protects a creator’s ownership of and control over the work he or she creates, requiring other people to get creator’s permission before they copy, share, or perform that work.
Creative Commons:  a kind of copyright that makes it easy for people to copy, share, and build on someone’s creative work- as long as they give the creator credit for it.
Public Domain: Creative work that’s not protected by copyright and is therefore free for you to use however one wants.

We have also learned about web tools. Some of them are Schoology, Quizlet, and Blogger. Schoology is where teachers post your assignments, homework, grades, and links to help with work. Quizlet is where we can study for test by playing games, study cards, and quizzes. Blogger is where we make blog about our work and things we have learned.

Some positive things about Schoology is that i can keep up with my work, know when something is due, ask my teacher a question if i need help, and its easy to keep up with my grades (if they post them). But there are bad things to. The only thing negative is I always worry about them posting work after i go home and not knowing about it.

We learned about digital literacy component this week called Copyright. Copyright helps me understand how to use the information responsibly.

This information will help me in my everyday life because I know that using other peoples work is wrong even though I have done it but know i know how to do it legally.
