So far this week has been good. I'm getting used to this school. I have learning a lot, meeting new people and enjoying the classes I have. I don’t like all the homework though that’s the only problem. The building is nice and clean, its small so its easy to find my classes. All the teachers are fun and easy to talk to.
Fair Use:The ability to use a small, amount of someone’s creative work without permission, but only in certain ways.
Commercial Purposes: A use in connection with a business, usually for profit.
Copyright: A law that protects a creator’s ownership of and control over the work he or she creates, requiring other people to get creator’s permission before they copy, share, or perform that work.
Creative Commons: a kind of copyright that makes it easy for people to copy, share, and build on someone’s creative work- as long as they give the creator credit for it.
Public Domain: Creative work that’s not protected by copyright and is therefore free for you to use however one wants.
We have also learned about web tools. Some of them are Schoology, Quizlet, and Blogger. Schoology is where teachers post your assignments, homework, grades, and links to help with work. Quizlet is where we can study for test by playing games, study cards, and quizzes. Blogger is where we make blog about our work and things we have learned.
Some positive things about Schoology is that i can keep up with my work, know when something is due, ask my teacher a question if i need help, and its easy to keep up with my grades (if they post them). But there are bad things to. The only thing negative is I always worry about them posting work after i go home and not knowing about it.
We learned about digital literacy component this week called Copyright. Copyright helps me understand how to use the information responsibly.
This information will help me in my everyday life because I know that using other peoples work is wrong even though I have done it but know i know how to do it legally.
