OMG! Your teen actually talks to you?

Parents Just Don't Understand

Parents just don't understand their kids sometimes. They won't us to tell them our problems, but then we get yelled at for some thing's we did in the problem. Although there are some parents out there who have figured out how to get their kids to tell them anything. They can talk about any subject with their kids and help them out with it. Another thing they might have to do is "put duck tape over your mouth." Meaning that sometimes your kids will tell you stuff you don't want to hear but you still have to help them anyways. They might have to hold their tongue at times, but it helps their kids in the long run. One mom said, "If your teen thinks, I already know what my mom will say about this, so I'm not even going to talk to her," you can forget about your kids opening up to you.

I feel like it's great parents are finding ways to get their kids to be more open with them. I know I have had problems in my life but never wanted to go ask for help because of stuff I did that I knew I would get in trouble for. I think if my parents where more like these parents I could feel like I trust them more and could be more open with them. The only problem is, I know it won't happen.

What is the impact of using quotes?
The impact of using quotes is showing the actually words coming from the sources mouth. It shows you the "front line" instead me just telling you what I think all of this means. Using quotes help give more information about the topic and more detail.

  1. I think you did a great job making this article personal to you as an individual. I really like the way you describe the article and its features. Personally, I would have to agree with you when it comes to talking to parents. It is certainly not the easiest thing to do by no means. They usually say why do you never talk to me and usually teenagers just want to say because you act as if you have never been in my shoes. Please make sure you are using the correct word choice, grammar, sentence structure, and I suggest you write more. Also, make sure you are doing BOTH citations. I have a couple of questions, do you think this strategy will work or do you think teenagers will still have those no-go feelings? Do you think if you tried talking to your parents about this article they would listen? How do you feel about the mother mentioned in your blogs response? Great job!
